I finished Barren Lands the other day - great book.
But I wanted to comment on the SRM NR info, repeated again:

"43% of all pyrope garnets are G10 subcalcic pyropes that plot to the left of the 85% line defined by Gurney (1984). The G10's are generally coarse grained with one pyrope yielding 8.18% Cr2O3 and 2% CaO. All G10 pyrope garnets occur within a defined corridor on the property. A separate eclogitic garnet population shows elevated Na2O along with excellent major element diamond inclusion equivalent chemistry. The chrome diopsides display good major element chemistry (high chromium and high sodium) and the chromites display a linear trend suggesting magmatic groundmass chromites from kimberlite. This mineral chemistry from the regional samples is unique to the region, differing from the existing kimberlite and lamprophyre rocks known in the region. All indications suggest a new local kimberlite source. "

Gurney was excited by a low of 4%CaO, prior to finding diamonds at Ekati. 2%!!! SRM has a long way to go, and it's going to be up, IMHO. Are there any indicator plots better that SRM's? Maybe WIll could comment. Maybe better to ask at stockwatch, but don't have the URL with me.

Well my 1 hour on the library PC is almost up; I'm on vacation camping, and in for a quick update.

Woah that ACA - took a pounding, eh? I hope for them they find a few more 4 plus carat diamonds, that are anything but brown.

Till later - gotta get a burn at the beach!
