No, you're correct, I am not bound as an attorney would be; however, since that information was part of an attorney-client relationship it is most certainly privileged, and I cannot be compelled to release it.

That's the first answer. To answer your implication, though, the people who did contact me obviously were interested in being plaintiffs, so I don't think they're too worried if the defendants find out who they are. That, though, will be their decision to make, not mine.
