"why mince words...'

There is no reason to mince words. However, there is a political struggle to establish ideals over tyranny in Iraq. A military conquest alone would be short lived.

It need not be Bush but support for the Islamic ideals of justice, mercy, and equality should be promoted over loyalty to Arab Regimes.

I KNOW "Dubya" would NOT agree with you: After all, he prided himself in working with Democrats in Texas, and he feels more inclined toward "working together" than using your point-of-view. He already soft-pedalled all the war protests as people merely "entitled to a different opinion" and did not get into disparaging name-calling. I know the guy is not as simple-minded as you hope.

When he does say something, such as "Freedom for the Iraqi People" you know it is all hammered out by the PR flacks, not by 'Dubya hisself'. These "writers" are the ones out of touch with the real world; they are soap-sellers and pseudo-intellects who think what sells at the 7-11 is what's "good thinking" abroad and the world over.

Wrong.

I'll bet you my $100 to $1, that none of these "writers" for Bush's statements for public consumption has ever been by themselves in a foreign country (ie, not on a "tour").

In 1994, I was in Switzerland. Wife and I were visiting Sion, and we're catching the train back to Martigny where 'cousins' were putting us up. It was 6PM, and I couldn't find anyplace selling food within a quarter mile of the train station. So I learned something about "monopoly" and food at the train station, which I would have never guessed. Oh well, we'll grab a bite when we get to Martigny.

We get back to Martigny at 7PM. I tell our host we haven't eaten, can he drop us at a restaurant or take us to a store where we can grab something to munch on. "Sorry, " he said, "All the stores and restaurants are closed."

"At 7pm, in a town of 30,000 people??!!" NOT a single STORE, or ONE place selling food?" Nope, only at the hotel.

This is the kind of reality that we Americans cannot understand unless we go off and see the great wide world, and even the world (Switzerland) much like ours. It is different in a thousand small ways, even when it APPEARS the 'same'. Bush and his PR staff are clueless.

There is plenty phony about Bush-speak. Name an issue he's speaking about and investigate his rhetoric versus what he's really doing and what's really happening. The BS level is extreme. Without a script he speaks plainly because he's not articulate and doesn't seem to be able to process complex thoughts. When he's reading a script it's expert propaganda writing. And as we know know includes many misleading statements. Big ones about big issues.
