I would hope you are right, but I think you read too much into the US claim that all those guerilla movement is from Saddam supporters. I personally think those guerilla resistance has less to do with Saddam per se, but more to do with the US presence in the country. Just like Jahad would not die just because BL is dead (or not? who knows), the guerilla movement in Iraq will be there as long as the US soldiers are there.
