the loss of manufacturing jobs. We do not appear to have any policy in place to stop that loss.

It's just the chickens coming home to roost for overpaid featherbedding unions. When they learn that the picket line leads to the unemployment line, maybe they'll become a bit more reasonable (as the airline unions have recently learned). You can't extort blood from a stone.
