An eye for an eye? Is it wrong? If you believe in the 10 commandments, then you believe that it is wrong to kill. Even for revenge.

If someone commits a heinous crime, they should be incarcerated for sure, for the safety of others, but why do we need to have this person killed?

The Pope does not support the death penalty. The US is the only country in the G7 that uses the death penalty. Most countries have abolished it. And studies show that the death penalty does not deter crime, so why have it?

How would you feel if you were sitting on death row, innocent, and out of appeals? Really, how would you feel? Run yourself through the scenario.

I guess it's the domestic version of "friendly fire", but avoidable.

I think it is incumbent on an advanced society to absolutely prevent such a situation. The alternative is to hold the condemned for life. This human says that is the right way.
