Doug, Re: It still baffles me that Poindexter was handed the position he has. I'm sure the neo-cons did a political calculation and felt that the American public was too damn dumb and disconnected from big government to understand what was happening. Recall that Ollie North, another scoundrel and un-American criminal, is regarded as a hero by a significant percentage of the population. Criminality for the sake of self-dealing seems about as American as appple pie to millions of greedheads in this country.
