Dan3:

You gott love this from AMDZone.com:

"Ultimately and once more we reiterate to you all; when comparing the results to note and not forget that the OPTERON CPU is only rated at 1.8GHz! Therefore, without a shadow of a doubt; we see the NVIDIA nForce 3 Pro and Opteron showing a force that is to be unmistakably noted and observed as a clear and present dangerous threat to Intel."

The daunting, ominous even, thermal constraint currently impeding Prescott evolution combined with the launch of a 2.0 GHz Opteron on August 4 should kickstart the Opteron phenomenon that we are about to witness over the next few years!!! It's very humorous, for me anyway, that DM's major concern seems to be an orderly transition from 32-bit to 64-bit computing over the next year or so!!!
