Why should they ? The UN is populated by numerous governments that hate the US. Iraq will never see a dime of that oil-for-food program if these nations have anything to say about it.

I think that the US will stop paying it's UN dues sometime fairly soon. The UN can't screw the US because we pay for the damn thing.

Re.the $15B of Iraqi money the UN holds, I just thought of another reason the UN might want to hold on. Iraq has about $80B or so in debts to European and Arab countries and Russia. Run up by Saddam to pay for his weapons programs.

Those countries would like to get their hands on the money.
