Someone explain to me why splitting the country into Kurdistan, Sunnistan and Shiastan isn't a good idea?

None of the neighboring countries wants to see that happen.

For one thing, we have a deal with Turkey not to allow an independent Kurdish State. The Turks are afraid it would inspire their own Kurdish population to seek independence with more vigilance.
