Yes, it is often the younger ones that run out of steam once the main portion of the conflict has been settled.

The experienced soldiers know they are in it for the long haul here, and just deal with things on a day to day basis.

They are not for the most part trained and equiped mentally for a long peace making/keeping role in the suburbs of some far flung country.

I hope NATO or the UN are allowed to help out here.
