<<< This has become the watch and wait market, in my opinion. Apparently this thread has taken that to heart, but no one is even bothering to watch.>>>

I'm watching every day but cannot come up with many specific plays to suggest to others. .
We said this was easy (during the boom), but its not any more -its more like 1995 or 1996
I had to leave the techs and go mostly elsewhere, although someone with more patience and less greed could have held Dell and a few others. And I am doing that too.
I've had to jump around, move back and forth, on any stock I have a bit of experience with. Never made a nickle on Intc, msft, Aol, Orcl. txn, etc
.I avoid them, which dont mean everyone should. I cant explain my problem but assume it has something to do with too many shares, or manipulation, so I avoid most big companies. Same applies to airlines, aircraft, oils,
cruise lines, gold, copper, etc
Where I do best is on major news items, not beating by a few cents, but earning double what they expected.
Or a split announcement.
Buy the moment the news comes out , but many do not get up at 3 am as I do to read all the news And if one has a job or adequate income, I dont recommend doing that.
That action gave me Tsco, (which I had anyway) , which moved up ever since the split declaration . Gave me NTE, which moved up into a split, gave me IGT ( which I had anyway), the day it declared a 4/1 split.
And one more was CAT, which blew away earnings estimates so I jumped on it.
Are these LTBH ? I cant promise that but they have the potential.
Wish they were , but have to play it day by day
Have already sold the Sohu, Nte, Sina, nearly all the Igt .
I do not assume the market will get any clearer or better, just that I believe it will still move up some.
I do know if one hangs in there long enough, learns the behavior of a few stocks over a few years, that one can gradually decrease mistakes and improve. I knew 20 minutes after I bought the last set of INTC calls I would get wooped, and did.
I also knew when I bought Dell at 31 that I could hold it, and have done that..
Need to play Fdry, Jnpr, Beas a bit different than some. Seem to be manipulated- slaughtered just before last options expiry. LT could be good , so I kept the Jnpr Leaps.
Putting profits in TMA. NFI, for good dividends, but I even sell those now and then
