So, basically, there are two possibilities: these people were lying about the CIA insisting the nuke info was bogus, or they really don't read any of the intelligence reports. Either is damning.

The reason to keep the references is obvious: many more people can relate to a nuclear threat than a biological or chemical one. The 'mushroom cloud spector' is much more compelling when trying to convince someone not just of danger, but immediate danger.

So, not only did they 'sex up' the info, they ignored the pleas of the CIA not to use the bogus reports. And even now, they continue to protect someone higher up; Rice? Cheney? Wolfie?

Already these lies make Clinton's sex lie seem trivial. I wonder if people will wake up and see the hypocrisy of the rightists...

"The disclosures punctured claims made by Rice and others in the last two weeks. Rice and other officials had asserted that nobody in the White House knew of CIA objections, and that the CIA supported the Africa accusation generally"
