Can't blame them for grumbling. They certainly were not told they would have to stay in Iraq indefinitely as policemen and peacekeepers. They were not even trained for that function.

Yes, it's all about the troops until they begin to grumble, and then we don't support them quite as much, do we? It's not, of course, possible that they, unlike those who are far removed from the realities of Iraq, actually see that there is much less support for them among the Iraqis than we are told. Or maybe that they are sitting duck targets and there is nothing they can do about it. I guess those things are beyond the range of possibilities, aren't they. Funny how "support our troops" can turn on a dime for you "compassionate" conservatives.
