I found myself agreeing with you almost 100%. Could be trouble.

It made me wonder what would be the "moderate" or so-called left of moderate view of N. Korea IF it were conclusively proven (no funny doctored up reports is the assumption) that they could produce as you suggested.

Let's assume they refuse to negotiate or they negotiate as they did with Clinton, i.e., yes us to death and then secretly do what they want.

What would the moderate or left of moderate do?

Problem is, if you bomb North Korean facilities where you know or suspect they have nukes, you are inviting them to rain a hail of conventional missiles down on Seoul.

How many tens of thousands of casualties and billions in damage to the South Korean economy is it worth?

We will have to buy off the North Koreans and put up with their goofy crap, just like China. Military options are a fantasy, like the rightwing delusion that we can go ahead and invade Syria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and anyone else like we don't like.

With an infinite budget and army, maybe. Under current circumstances forget it.

I believe we made a grave mistake going after Iraq (or going after Iraq first), instead of North Korea... The Bush administration went after Iraq because they presumed it would be a much easier target, not because it was an immediate threat...
Regarding Saddam's two sons, I believe the place they were hiding in should have been blockaded until the surrendered or died of their own accord... I do not believe in murder, even for stinking swine...
