Bush as another Hitler -- that is absurd. Hitler was an insane, murderous criminal who not only vilified Jews for political gain, but set about exterminating them. Bush has gone to great lengths to align US and Israeli interests. If there is a rationale for Iraq, it can only be found in our relationship to Israel.

But Hitler did have a few policy similarities to the neocon agenda. He wanted superpower status and to use that status to rule the world. Hitler demonstrated great power through use of his military and Hitler unified his country by invading others while blaming problems on Jews -- the neocons prefer to blame "Islamic radicals", although Clinton is always a good standby. We all want to believe that we have nothing whatsoever in common with Hitler -- we do not hate people because they belong to race or religion, we do not invade other countries, we do not glorify ourselves by our military power and we do not have ambitions to control the world. But the neocon agenda is a move in this direction, and, as such, should be viewed with grave suspicion.
