Your message is a corker.

No substance, just "trust me, he's got sources."

Willing to believe the old guy, are you? In my view, he's sadly turned into an old fraud in his golden years. Everything he writes deserves strict scrutiny because it is clear that his latest stuff is sensationalistic and highly questionable. If you don't recognize that and need to swallow everything he says without engaging your critical faculties, that's up to you.

I question everything Hersh says now given the horrendous work he has done recently. Remember the thousands of Al Qaida warriors the CIA (or somebody associated with the US gov't) flew out of Afghanistan into Pakistan? That was rich.

Remember his taking the word of Kashoggi, the sleazebag Saudi arms dealer?

I don't have to name the sources. David Remnick, the present editor of The New Yorker, has that obligation. Since their reputation is on the line, my guess is they have done so.

Slip-sliding away...the patented ol' JohnM shuffle. Well, I guess it's a good sign that you're going from certainties to guesses. ;)

Hersh's an old dog who needs to retire instead of howl at the moon, dreaming of past glories and making up bits of yellow journalism.

As far as The New Yorker is concerned, I guess its editors need to sell something to the willing; the Summer is the pits for ads and circulation. Might as well sex things up with a little Hershian fiction. Sells copy.

Oh, before I forget,

Here are Hersh's allegations about "war crimes" in Iraq during the Gulf War.

abcnews.go.com

Yep. Gulf War war crimes.

Haven't heard too much about that, have you?

Too funny.

Face it, Hersh's an unprincipled muckracker
