The is Bush's war, and he is responsible for the results (in so far as he controls them).

What does the "in so far as he controls them" mean? If there is a civil war in Iraq, does it let him off the hook? Maybe in your opinion. But those were among the "unintended consequences" that he was warned about before he embarked on this, so Bush should be responsible for virtually everything that happens in Iraq going forward, other than say, for instance, a massive earthquake in Iraq that threw a spanner in the works and changed the picture substantially.

UN peacekeepers and a post-war plan would have saved at least 100 US lives and tens of billions of tax-payer dollars. That's a fact.
