so ... TWAWKI (the west as we knew it) has been living over its means and now it's the time (century?) we get back to our normal weight ...

On the energy front: some time soon we'll have to realize we want to have oil and burn it too. And I would assume the world will (have to) go nuclear. Given the fact there's gazzillions of tons of enriched material lying around I keep my fingers crossed some politician will soon start a "no more fear of mushrooms" crusade. And because nobody wants to have this kind of power station in his backyard, we'll all vote (what's the UN for if not ...) for some nice far-away country to take on the very important role of having 1000MW-or-more power station on each and every molehill. From what I've seen in the lord of the rings, there's a lot of nice molehills in NZ;)
