Its clear that as shareholders we need to give them the benefit of the doubt, IMO this could be a very righteous move, Spectrum is unfairly valued in the short term sense, but with its core technologies SDR for JTRS and the emerging Wifi marketplace, Spectrum will make a material impact on any acquirers revenue streams for the next 10 to 15 years. On the defense side I've begun to narrow the candidates and the 4 most likely IMO are NOC, HRS and HON, BEAS. BEAS being the most far fetched because of its lack of Commercial Communications business. Overall though IMO the best candidate to take Spectrum whole is INTC. The accumulated evidence says they are the best fit by far. The previous articles posted here on INTC are all supportive of that view. SDR is a game changing technology not only for JTRS but also for Wifi and the various standards emerging. SDR is the base technology by which INTC could activate Centrino, by providing tools for their customers development efforts. In the move to combine General purpose processors with FPGA the development tools within Spectrum suite are highly prized and mandatory to assist customers in coming to SDR. The SDR 3000 Development system does that very well for either INTC or MOT who could also emerge as a bidder. This is where the rubber meets the road. Further INTC must be very interested in the VOIP market. The money flow is showing rotation to this group as we speak. I am buying all of them as a group in order to allow for rising sales gains across all of them, while waiting for the market share numbers to sort themselves out. No matter what anyone thinks, JTRS is a huge program that will produce Years of revenue to the winning team, SSPI is clearly a role player in this movement no matter which team wins. SSPI for sale right now accomplishes a few important things which cannot be articulated at this time; but one can assume their are National security concerns about this being left on its own. There fore shareholders should give additional weight to the National Security issues, and get behind managements call for bidders. The Oligarchs in the defense trade ie Prime Contractors are all acquisitve at this time, They are manipulative to the max and therefore might try to pull a fast one on shareholders. Whereas INTC or another Comm company could provide cover on National Security concerns, yet would rationalize the purchase across far greater markets realizing far better value to shareholders. 60% of the shares of SSPI are held by American Citizens or legal entities in the US. We in the Indiv Inv. pool need to be very alert so as not to be ripped off by one or more parties spinning a negative story where in fact this is all positive. Be prepared to take delivery of your shares, the arb process can be materially affected by the combined actions of shareholders. SSPI is one of those special situations, though it may disappear as an operating public company, its affects will be felt world wide in applications for many many years to come. Valuation, can be spun to rationalize the Long term or the short term view. Any attempt by management to come down on the short term side should be viewed negativly by the rest of us. These are my views as an independent investor, and for now, I'll be sticking to them!
