I disagree with much of what you just said, but we are wandering further and further afield, and are now in the realm of personal anecdote, and I really don't see the point in wandering any further away from the original discussion, which was about people being identified with their ideas, or the idea that attacking certain ideas equates to attacking a person, or your opinion that attacking certain ideas, not intrinsic to America, is somehow "Anti -American". I continue to disagree with that, as well as all this other stuff.
