The UN directive was very specific that the "inspectors" would simply record Saddam's complete destruction of his weapons, and audit his documentation of any he may have destroyed earlier. There wasn't a single requirement about a team of detectives. Saddam failed to comply because (probably at the urging of the French) he believed we would NEVER take him out. He was wrong...He was not the first, and he won't be the last-and now he and his pig-sons are DEAD MEAT...
