Watson, contrary to your assertion I not only did not report a tou violation to SI, I never have and probably never will. As for the rest of your post, to the extent I can understand it, I believe I disagree.

"Saying what you believe to be true is civil, sincere and most of all honest. . That is the summary of the proper use of the TOU of SI that I understood."

Well, then you didn't read too closely, Tommy:

"a) Using the Service for illegal purposes or for the transmission of material that is unlawful, harassing, libelous, invasive of another's privacy, abusive, threatening, harmful, vulgar, obscene, tortuous or otherwise objectionable."

Name calling is abuse; calling someone an off color name is both vulgar and abuse. Even if you honestly believe I am a pinhead, calling me such is a violation of the TOU, and you will be reported.

PS. I find it hilarious that you point out bad grammar in the prior post. I think all of us could us a few grammar lessons.

I do not understand how stating what one believes to be true is ever a violation of the TOU

Let me clarify so you'll understand.

Calling someone, for instance, an asshole, is a Terms of Use violation because it's a personal attack. With a Profanity kicker.

That you truly believe the target of that name-calling really is an asshole is irrelevant.
