No, I am an engineer by trade. But, having four children, I have the utmost respect for the teachers I have see and known. It is a tough job, underpaid according to the hours many work, where many take their own money to buy basic supplies and small rewards for kids. It is one of the professions where you really seem to have to have both a love of kids and a love of seeing them learn in order to excel. Many teachers in our area cannot afford even middle class housing. A shameful situation that we pay our athletes and political pundits millions while letting those who teach our kids scrape by on coupons.
