Re that early winter: That was 200+ years before the Sand Creek Massacre in 1864... And a complete group of what we now refer to as Native Americans. Just as in any group of people anywhere, there are good folks, and there are folks who are not so good.... The Indians that first winter were instrumental in helping the Pilgrims stay alive. As far as the one sentence that appears to be wrong, probably an email would do the trick to that site. It does seem pretty well researched, when I compared it to other similar sites. Insert Sand Creek Massacre into google...You will see. I had a direct relative live in the same vicinity less than 10 years later. A legend in his own time. He was known as the Sheriff who didn't carry a gun, and befriended the Native Americans who lived there.
