" Nurse, has the patient been like this very long?"
" No , Dr, he was comatose as usual until they showed Mr Cheney on the TV"
" He seems to be busy at the computer, writing away like crazy -Oh, maybe I shouldn't have said it that way - does he respond"
" No Dr, I have tried everything - even removed my blouse once but he didn't even look up- Just sits there going ping ping ping on the keys"
" Well, what I think we have here is a severe case of SI -itis. Lets try that thing with the blouse one more time and if that doesn't end the seizure we will shut off the power to the room and the computer."
" Geez, I cant believe this isn't working, you are bumping his ears and get no response at all.-lets turn out the lights and try it that way. Just sit there on the bed, he wont be using it tonight, these seizures can last for days"
"Oooooooooooooh, Doctor"

<<Britons see "culture of deceit" at heart of British government

LONDON (AFP) - More than two-thirds of British voters believe a culture of deceit exists at the heart of the Britain's government, according to a poll conducted following the presumed suicide of arms expert David Kelly.

As British Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) battles to overcome his biggest crisis since coming to power in 1997 over Kelly's death, a YouGov poll in The Daily Telegraph revealed that 68 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that a culture of deceit and spin exists at the heart of the British government.

The survey is the latest in a series of British polls published this week showing significant falls in voter support for Blair following Kelly's death on July 17.

The BBC says the arms expert was the main source for its report in May that said Blair's office "sexed-up" a dossier on Iraq (news - web sites) in the run-up to war against the wishes of intelligence chiefs.

The row centres on a headline-grabbing claim in the September dossier that Baghdad could launch weapons of mass destruction within 45 minutes.

Blair has agreed to give evidence to an independent judicial inquiry ordered by the government into Kelly's death.

The latest YouGov poll also showed that only 23 percent of voters believe Blair can be trusted more than opposition leaders Iain Duncan Smith and Charles Kennedy, while 45 percent said Blair should be replaced as leader of the Labour party, the same proportion who said he should remain.

A total 47 percent agreed with the statement that one cannot believe a word Blair says while 61 percent said the government appeared to have lost control and to be at the mercy of events.

Elsewhere, the poll showed that the opposition Conservative party has extended its lead over Labour to three percentage points, up one from last month. A total 37 percent of respondents said they would vote for the Conservatives should an election be held tomorrow while 34 said they would back Labour.

Britain's next general election is due by mid-2006 at the latest.

YouGov interviewed 2,219 voters online between Tuesday and Thursday.

The body of Kelly, a defence ministry consultant, was found July 18 in a woods close to London, several days after he was grilled by a parliamentary committee investigating claims that he was the BBC's source.

A separate YouGov survey released Monday revealed that 39 percent of British voters would like Blair to quit over the death of Kelly.
