DAK,

You know, for the life of me, I cannot remember Hulbert's ever providing coverage of Guilder's selections. Maybe that's because his newsletter was such a brief flash in the pan...

I used to get tons of snail mail from Forbes (at the time, I subscribed to their magazine), perhaps as often as twice a week, extolling the virtues of Guilder, what a visionary he was, his genius, his ties to Forbes and the Forbes family... Fortunately, I never bit. The subscription wasn't cheap (more than just a few hundred dollars a year as I recall), and besides that, I just didn't trust Guilder. I suppose he's a nice guy, but I just never bought into his visions of the future.

I read recently that Guilder is now broke (relatively speaking) and out of the prognostication business. He was going to write another book (I forget the subject), and he's tired of being used as the poster child for misguided expectations. Most of all, he's extremely remorseful about all of the investment monies that were lost by people who followed his advice. He tries to avoid publicity now.
