The failure of any of the declared candidates to get traction might result in an old-fashioned convention, in which some compromise candidate is nominated on the 15th ballot. By that time, of course, the hysterical anti-American left will have torn up the neighborhood so badly that the story will be outside, rather than inside the convention hall. You can paint lipstick on 10,000 Terry McAuliffe's, but they will still root in the mud, and, as they used to say themselves, "The WHOLE WORLD is WATCHING!"...
