These days I'm most interested in what the impact of the Open Source movement may have on the big players.

Maybe it benefits them in that they will no longer wind up spending resources developing stranded assets that never become standards. If RHAT or some other dedicated open source company can make money in open source (remains to be seen) so can some big guy like IBM. If no one can make money open source will die a slow death. I think it's here to stay and the big guys will adapt or die themselves.
