My opinion is formed based on some data points that include his refusal to use certain 'facts' that he found to be, how did he put it, bovine excrement. Also, he has contradicted the stance of the White House on a number of occasions, taking a softer, more diplomatic approach that was contrary to the White House. It leads me to believe the stories that he is at constant odds with the hawks. It is my opinion that he feels he is the voice of moderation, but something could put him over the edge and cause him to jump. Either another gaffe by the Bush admin, or maybe just his 'turn' to fall onto a sword to protect someone like Cheney.
