Personally I prefer FreeBSD (or *BSD) to Linux. Perhaps this recent issue with SCO licensing might add a little momentum to the FreeBSD take up too, although its still below the radar screen for many. I read somewhere that other than Linux and NT/2K/XP, FreeBSD was the only other significant server OS with growth, but do not have stats or a link to back that up.

Being an old unix head I'm a little biased although I've spent more or less equal parts of my career working on big iron (IBM and plug compatibles when I worked at CA) as well as tiny iron (Netware, and then Microsoft).

These days I use Unix for almost everything except for charting -- even my order entry system runs on the FreeBSD workstation that I am typing this message to you on.

Have a good weekend... its time to play with the kids... ;)
