Hi Neocon; Re: "OK, so what?"

You and Ish were going on and on about how accurate and truthful Wolfowitz' speech was. All Wolfowitz did was to acknowledge a very small part of what has been burningly obvious to all for several months.

Here's the hilarious record:

WinSmith,
U.S. did `stupid things' in Iraq, No. 2 Pentagon official says
...
[ just for the record, the AP story on what Wolfowitz actually said. Doesn't seem all that big a deal, but I suppose by local always-right standards, Wolfowitz must be "self-hating" or something for even admitting the mere possibility fallibility . ]

Ish, in reply:
Isn't it refreshing to have an administration that can admit that things didn't go 100% as planned rather than running out the spin doctors? #reply-19147703

Neocon, in reply:
Yep, I thought Wolfowitz's speech was great. #reply-19147778

Ish, in reply:
Nice to have guys who can tell it like it really is in the administration for a change. #reply-19147795

Neocon, in reply:
Yep. Nice to have some honesty, instead of constant spin. #reply-19147809

So is the morale of the troops "fantastic"? LOL!!!

Hey, there are probably guys who truly believe that it's raining when Wolfowitz is urinating on their shoes. But how anyone could swallow the lie that troop morale in Iraq is "fantastic"?

Soldiers Learn They’ll Be in Baghdad Longer Than Expected

ABC News, July 16, 2003
The sergeant at the 2nd Battle Combat Team Headquarters pulled me aside in the corridor. "I've got my own 'Most Wanted' list," he told me. He was referring to the deck of cards the U.S. government published, featuring Saddam Hussein, his sons and other wanted members of the former Iraqi regime. "The aces in my deck are Paul Bremer, Donald Rumsfeld, George Bush and Paul Wolfowitz," he said. Those four are not popular at 2nd BCT these days.

Sure, morale is wonderful in Iraq! But hey, didn't you notice that the newspapers were reporting that the administration's Iraq war was in the shitter months ago, when the Iraqis started the guerilla war? It's taken Wolfowitz 60 or 90 days to admit to what was already obvious to anyone with a room temperature IQ. That's not "refreshing", it's simply admitting what was completely undeniable.

Wrong. How many quotes do you want me to produce where Wolfowitz pumped rosy versions of a spinning reality over the past 3 months? How many?
