When did McCain trash the 1st amendment? I've always thought he was ok.

My recollection was that McCain was trashed by the BUSH team because of his hot temper. He was made to look like someone who you would not want to have with his finger on the nuclear trigger.

I don't remember the first ammendment being an issue at all.
