When I say Clinton bubble...it's more in a reference to what happened on his watch rather than what he did. Of course if your running a campaign then you point out all the good stuff...yada yada yada. Now Bush is being a little more proactive. "The Bush bust" (stock market and return to the economy from unrealistic levels) really is the result of what happened under Clinton just as the RE boom is. Bush is more of a desperation mode...pulling some strings, pumping to help temper the crash but appreciating Clintons tax cut in 1997 all the way. If we didn't have appreciating home prices in the last few years to make us feel better then what would we have? Adding a few of his own...not to mention his colonialist tendencies, much of which in the name of cleaning up poor US policy for many years. Bush's best hope is to let the economy show signs of recovery and then get money to shift out of Real Estate back into the rest of the economy. He also needs to save the pension funds. For that rates will have to rise.

You are just coming to that conclusion? We've known if months now on this thread......of course this thread is very advanced. BTW, you didn't give Clinton the credit for all the hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods during the 90s. There were other things as well but I don't want to blow his horn too much; it gets the conservatives on the thread all upset. <g> ted
