Why are our GIs still doing sitting duck duty guarding public buildings in Iraq?

Been a lot of comment on this one. The admin admits that no one expected the complete collapse of the infrastructure. It is easy in hindsight to see the problems, but these were not the ones expected, and if you have been following, you know we will have Iraqi troops in the field doing precisely that by September.

Should have been faster, but I know of no Government Bureaucracy that can move faster. It is easy to "cheap shot" this.

It comes down to one word: Pride.

Having publicly ridiculed the UN and its inspectors, GWB is now too prideful to appeal to it for help.

Anyway you look at it, this is what it boils down to.
