Believe me, if I thought the UN could do the job I would be all for it, but sadly I dont think they can. Look at the botched job they are doing in Afghanistan. It is my understanding the UN troops are merely sent to a PEACEFUL PLACE to KEEP THE PEACE. ie they are not supposed to even shoot anyone. Just sit around as sort of a blocking action. Iraq is now a No Man's Land, law and order needs to be restored FIRST then the UN can get involved. Now I am not talking ALL of Iraq mainly just the Sunni Triangle including northern Baghdad. Maybe they could be of use in Southern Iraq to free up the British and Kurdish Iraq to free up our forces then all our forces and the British concentrate on the lawless portion. jdn

Clearly you have never been involved in creating anything complex. Else all the problems you suggest be created would be obvious. But talkers always want to tell the pro's how to do it.

In any process there are not unlimited resources of time and people. It is far better to spend those resources on bringing Iraqis upto speed than UN blue helmets who are afraid of their shadow.

Security is about developing people you trust and not throwing a bunch of unknowns in quickly to make you feel better.

That's the reality of the logistics of doing. That's is what those who have been there and done it know.

You really need to study Kurzweil and his Reader.

LOL, I don't think getting UN cooperation has anything to do with Bush's ego. He is just playing it that way to the American public.

You think the UN wants to do anything to help BUSH now that he got into an illegal war without their consent???
I doubt it.

It is either going to cost BUSH a lot of public humility, money, or his presidency to fix this screw up. Hopefully it will be the later, then everyone will be happy.

LOL, like I said, you have no experience in getting anything done and are a major motor mouth talker.

Security is a chain of elements. The chain is as strong as it's weakest link. Any large task has elements or facets that make it just like a chain.

You may think that Libia has a lot to contribute but I think that's idiotic.

After the UN central committee has demonstrated they have the ability to rebuild something like Japan or Europe then come back and I won't consider this statement idiotic.

"What we need to do is get the UN in there to share the burden."

Your ability to evaluate anothers character is as non existent as your ability to figure out how to get out of a wet paper bag. Rebuilding a country is not the arena of talking fools and idiots.
