Yes he did. I was trying to sell real estate at the time, but who but someone who was being transferred with the company picking up the difference in mortgages, would buy or sell a house? Remember the long lines at the gas stations?

I'll never forget when Carter was elected. My husband and I stayed up to watch the election returns until the wee hours. When the official announcement came on that Carter had won the election, my husband said "this is the end for all of us, what were they all thinking".
