I'll bet if someone calculated the average income of the top 1% of the nation, and compared it to the median, they'd find that, indeed, this gap has increased (or 'improved', depending on your perspective).

After all, you don't have to outrun the lion; just the other guys...

It is no lie. The recession belonged to Clinton, if it belonged to anyone. Subsequently, the economy improved, which could be attributed to Bush, if is attributed to anyone. Considering the economic costs of 9/11, it may very well be that the thing that saved the economy was Bush's policies......
