Mish, I am no economist. It is my understanding that the price of Copper is supposed to be directly related to the level of economic activity. The chart on Leib's site does look bearish for Copper, with a great sharp decline off the top in '2000 followed by a (so far) corrective-looking 62% retracement.

Interestingly, it appears that the price of Copper recently failed to confirm the new highs in the markets.

Agree. Copper looks like a big inverted h&s. Definitely not a good time to short.
