You are entitled to your opinion (and definitions). I'm merely pointing out that many don't share that definition. Hence, you are likely to unintentionally confuse. Consider

If you wish to continue using fascism as a synonym for all dictatorships, no matter what the ideology, you might consider giving a "heads-up", so as to not confuse.

My only goal in this conversation is clarity. Your usage confused me, and I suspect it may have a similar result with others. While many examples exist of using the specific to mean the generic (e.g. Scotch tape), in matters of politics, clarity has increased importance.

Since, I now understand your definition, I won't trouble you again on the matter. Please continue to post the many informative articles that have enriched this thread - like the Magruder article. What a "blast from the past". Thanks.
