You are right.
or
Leaving out the pro's

There are many Canadians who disagree with his decision.

I am not sure if the description of a pro-American or anti-American Canadians can be discussed without introducing Iraq. Canadians who still believe that Mr. Bush did the right thing in invading Iraq and that Canada should also be involved are making a statement, each person will have their own interpretation of what that statement means. I believe that in a large part the pro/anti problem has been caused by the causes offered for the invasion and goes back to the question of WHY. I believe that is a statement about the current administration, not the relationship between Canada and the United States.
Thanks for the correction KC.

Our presence or lack of it in Iraq has not been an issue of great political import within Canada though our relationship with the United States was definitely affected. I do not think Iraq is an issue that Ms. Copps or Mr. Martin will be using as a plank in November.
