Wolfowitz: Americans still support Iraq

WASHINGTON, July 27 (UPI) -- Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz said Sunday despite the upsurge in military deaths, he expects continued American support for the mission in Iraq.

A total 14 U.S. soldiers have been in killed in Iraq over the last eight days, the latest death coming Sunday.

But Wolfowitz told "Fox News Sunday" that he does not believe the death toll will effect American's support for the Bush administration's plans for Iraq.

"Iraq now is the central battle in the war on terrorism" and is vital for the safety of the United States, he said.

"The reports of deaths are terrible," he said. "Any American death is a terrible thing. But I think the American public understands that when you're fighting a war against against terrorists, when you're fighting for the security of the country, that sacrifice is something you'd have to expect."

Yes, Bush is too much of a one-world-government type for me to like.

I don't like being hoodwinked into a pre-emptive war.
