MSI,

There's no doubt in my mind that all those "coincidental" events were carefully orchestrated with the intent of usurping that power. At the same time my view is Congress has a duty to make sure there is still an America after the "crisis" is over, and they dropped the ball in a big way in that respect. Their job is to make the right choices even when political opinion is against them. Watching the whole herd of them roll over to let little George scratch their bellies doesn't impress me much.

There are a handful who have been fully vindicated for making the hard choice when it was important to vote against the scams, but the vast majority are any man's dog who will hunt with them. The current batch of Democrats look more like Republicans, and for the Presidential hopefuls who voted to invade Iraq, I don't consider it a point in their favor that they now claim they were too dumb to recognize the con job. I'd probably vote for Byrd, but the rest of the clowns belong in a circus, not in positions of responsibility.
