Everything you say is true, but there is an attitudinal problem too, at least with Democrats. Some of them appear to be seething for no apparent reason.

Had a chance to catch most of Wolfowitz' testimony before the Senate this morning. He was brilliant. He calmly laid out things as he sees them, and was balanced in his assessments. Didn't paint any rosy scenarios, he stuck to hard headed realism.

Most Democrat Senators were respectful while asking tough questions, but Biden and Boxer did not distinguish themselves. Biden was over the top in his effort to be confrontational, going as far as saying the administration was being deceitful. Wolfowitz calmly dispatched that notion, forcing Biden to reword his question.

Boxer (who has undergone a makeover recently. She actually looked sharp in her Armani jacket, new do, and smart-gal specs. No longer looks like an aging cheerleader) was just as confrontational, but she just came across as uppity and snarky.
