Loiter is the word. What we need is a new bomb truck. Something like the old B-36. We'll probably have worn out all the B-52's by the time this war is over.

The CAS plane of the war was the Warthog, and the Air Force wants to junk it.

Driving thru Tucson a few years ago, I saw what appeared to be a quite a few mothballed A-10 Warthogs. This was during the Kosovo war, and I recall thinking we had enough planes right there to defeat Milosovich. I have no idea what kind of condition they were in, though.
