NANo thread

Subject 31660

I did do some research 6-8 weeks ago and started to read nano periodicals looking for opportunities. The summation of that work was that there is a LOT of stuff in the works (pre-IPO) or still in VC.... couldn't find a solid list of public companies at this time.. also found that (dah!) "everyone" has nano-something so expect there to be a me too bandwagon as the tide turns towards nano (IMO)

A couple others that I have run across are FLML, SKYE.

I think that nano will revolutionize biotechnology much more so than it will for the silicon industry and we will see the results in a shorter time frame. Sure silicon parts will get smaller, but everyone is already used to seeing that. People will be really impressed with, and thus make a better story, is the capabilities that nano gives to biotech because the physical and chemical properties change as the particles change size. For example: NUCRYSTTM Pharmaceuticals' patented nanotechnology actually changes the crystal structure of silver. Conventional silver is composed of large crystals, which dissolve very slowly thereby limiting the available silver. By contrast, the silver used in NUCRYST Pharmaceuticals' existing medical devices and emerging pharmaceutical compounds are made up of much smaller crystals of silver.
Laboratory tests have shown that this nanocrystalline structure dissolves rapidly when moistened allowing silver ions and clusters to begin providing antimicrobial activity immediately.

Two small cap profitable nanos that I hold are MFIC and SOTK.
