A process ignoramus asks the question and proffers that one knew text was taken out. Text was not present and then text was. If present it's good and if not it's not there. That is all it means. Details are taken care of by the detail people. That is what a leader expects. Intelligence is never certain, but a weighted evaluation of many facts. This was a historical event fact and confirmation comes from many sources. On such a minor sentence I would not be questioning the details of the details. That's not leadership.

The errors of the detail people allowed a 100% correct statement to be in the SOTU. All the reservations vs the weight of pro info that should have had the detail people keep it out have now been overcome by events and those reservations are over ruled by current more complete knowledge.

At the time of the SOTU the what was known did not provide for an acceptable level of go with it. But now we know that it turns out that the statement was 100% correct.

Darn good intelligence? How good is darn good anyway?

If you ask me, the President does not get good intelligence. Intelligence failed on 9-11. Intelligence failed to alert the President about the bogus Uranium. Intelligence over estimated WMD.

Why hasn't Tenet been fired if his intelligence is so darn good?

Answer: Tenet is doing exactly as the administration wants him to. Fail to do his job and take the blame for it.

Hell if that's the case we could have a talking monkey for a President.

But how would you get it to quit banging cymbals together during the speech?
