Al, Who cares?

Those who think the "world" is always right ought to care.

Usually John Fowler posts pretty good arguments for a liberal. Those included the high cost of the war (lives and money), the notion that the threat wasn't "grave" nor "immediate," and the underlying oil interests behind Bush's motives. But then he ventured into the realm of "Imperialist America" and "We should listen to world opinion on this," so I decided to show just how inconsistent world opinion can be.

Ah, but France did ... before 9/11. Hence my point.

Who cares?

They certainly don't; they're grasping at straws because that's all they have left. They are trying desperately to defend the indefensible because they hear they're talk show favs doing it. The difference.......the talk show host is singing to a small and diminishing choir. Of course, it makes sense under those circumstances.

However, let the light shine on it and its sensibility is, well, screwed. Poor France.....its become the whipping boy for the right. Its like the white trash malcontent who takes his bad luck and faux pas out on the dog.

Oh no, now I've gone and done it.......I used some French words in my last sentence. I must be a dirty, unAmerican, unpatriotic francophile. LOL!
