John, and he was being nice with you because you were new to the thread. No, that guy was carrying on a reasonable discussion, making reasonable, well thought-out arguments. They were WRONG, but nontheless, he was using his mind. If I offended him by referring to liberals as "idiots", so be it. I find most liberals to be of marginal intellect, and frankly, the fundamental precepts of liberalism, to me, are inconsistent with intelligence. Just my view. I'm sure others feel the same about conservatives. I have the greatest respect for Bob Dole, and even Bill Clinton (on this one issue only) -- that they can put their partisan differences aside and not show their contempt for one another. I can't do it; when I recognize that liberals are pretty much the cause of what's wrong with this country, I just can't discount it. OTOH, I recognize the two-party system as essential, even if one party lacks intellect and causes all the trouble.
