You really need to look at growth - debt.

The illusion that the economy is growing is only maintained by borrowing. It is as if you thought you got a raise because they upped your credit card limit. In effect, Junior is selling the dollar for pennies to pad the GDP.

No evidence yet that unemployment is dropping. Interest rates and oil are hurting things and there is no relief in sight yet on those fronts. Confidence is followed because it is often a leading indicator.
